About this winery
The history of Marchesi Mazzei is the story of Tuscany, uniting the family and famous region since the 11th century. The winery’s roots in the territory span over 600 years and continue to expand through wineries and vineyards, including Castello di Fonterutoli in the heart of Chianti Classico, Belgvardo in Maremma (Tuscany) and Zisola in Noto (Sicily). Product notes
Tyrrhenus, charismatic, proud and fearless prince of the “Tyrrhenoi”, led his people to central Italy, founding the Etruscan civilization and importing wine culture. The prince’s personality served as the inspiration for “Tirrenico”, coming from the Belguardo vineyards that overlook the Tyrrenian sea and benefit from its breezes.
Production notes
Hand picked harvest. Fermentation temperature of 28°C. 20 days maceration period. Ageing in small French oak barrels (225 l) for 14 months.

Intense, elegant and vibrant, blackcurrant notes, with a fresh and savory finish.
