Château Cailleteau Bergeron is a family vineyard since 1933, located in the appellation area of Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux. For nearly 100 years, generation after generation, the Dartier family has been producing wines of quality and pleasure. The estate is in the town of Mazion, in the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation area, 40 kilometers north of Bordeaux. The area has more than 5,000 feet, on gentle slopes, facing south-southwest. Covering an area of 50 hectares, production is divided into 90% red wine and 10% white wine. The soil, clay-limestone and clay, is the ideal support for growing the emblematic red grape varieties of the appellation: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. The terroir finds its best expression there. In the town of Mazion, the two white grape varieties, Sauvignon Gris and Sauvignon Blanc, planted on a sandy plateau, meet the best conditions to achieve good maturity and excellent aromatic potential. Part of the vineyard was officially converted to organic in 2018 (20h) and it obtained HVe3 certification (High Environmental Value level 3) in 2020. The family estate is now managed by Marie-Pierre and Pierre-Charles Dartier, 3rd generation.
