Production notes

Old vines hillside selections 60-100 years old. Vines are trained in the vaso system and undergo vigorous Canopy management and green harvest. Vinification process begins where only the most perfectly mature bunches are selected and harvested into small boxes to prevent crushing. And taken to triage tables at the winery. The selected grapes are placed into small stainless-steel tanks. The must is basket pressed. The wine was aged in new French and American oak barrels (24 months).

Tasting notes

A powerful fulsome wine in the mouth, fleshy and fresh, with a great concentration of flavour and excellent balance; it is like tasting the very essence of the Garnacha grape. Aquilon represents the most profound expression of the grape, the terroir and the personality of the vintage.

Aquilon 2015

This plush red delivers bold flavors of kirsch, blood orange and dark chocolate, with light, firm tannins and juicy acidity. Rich and heady, but with enough acidity to stay lively. Drink now through 2022. 366 cases made, 55 cases imported. — TM
