About this winery
The history of Marchesi Mazzei is the story of Tuscany, uniting the family and famous region since the 11th century. The winery’s roots in the territory span over 600 years and continue to expand through wineries and vineyards, including Castello di Fonterutoli in the heart of Chianti Classico, Belgvardo in Maremma (Tuscany) and Zisola in Noto (Sicily). Product notes
Produced from separate vinification of the different company parcels (7 vineyard sites), which spread across a unique range of soil (very rich soil in texture, mainly limestone, varied and complex texture made of limestone and marl) and climate types, at an altitude from 220 to 570 metres above sea level in the heart of the Chianti Classico area. Vineyards age: 17 - 37 years. Spur cordon-training and Guyot training vines system. Fonterutoli is Marchesi Mazzei flagship!
Production notes
Hand picked harvest. Fermentation temperature: 26-28° C. Period of maceration: 16-18 days. Ageing in French oak barrels (225 and 500 lt) for 12 months. Finissage in concrete tanks for 30-45 days.

A well proportioned, elegant body, dark berry, fresh spice flavors, intense, smooth taste.
