About this winery

Man Vintners Family Wines was named after the three founders’ wives; Marie, Annette & Nicky. As young winemakers back in 2001, Tyrrel Myburgh, Philip Myburgh (Joostenberg Wines family winery) and Jose Conde (Stark-Condé Wines) weren’t looking for rockstar bottles that cost a fortune. Product notes

Made in a traditional Cotes de Provence style, this classic Rose is a well-balanced Grenache-based blend. Hanekraai is an Afrikaans word that refers to dawn break, the golden-hued time of day when roosters loudly call out first light. Refreshing, crisp, and fruity. With an abundance of bright red fruit flavours punctuated by delicate floral notes.

Production notes

Grapes were hand-picked into bins and whole bunches were tipped directly into the press to minimise oxidation. Free-run juice was gently extracted while soft pressings were added, until the colour of the juice reached the desired spectrum. After fermentation was completed in tank, the wine was racked from the lees and kept at 16°C for 4 months before bottling took place.

Tasting notes

Pale salmon colour. Redcurrant, pomegranate, cranberries and floral aromas. Fresh palate with ample red fruits such as strawberries, cherries, and raspberries. Crisp, well-integrated acidity, finely textured mouthfeel.
