About this winery
Cantaburros is the name of the vineyard location and is located in the very heart of the Ribera del Duero region on the central plateau of Spain, in Castilla Leon region. It belongs to San Pablo company, two families owners since 1989. Poor, dry, calcareous and covered with stones, the vineyard is located at an altitude of approx. 800 m, where winters are freezing cold and summers extremely hot, where the difference between day and night temperatures can vary up to 25º. Production notes
Prefermentative maceration process at room temperature prior to the alcoholic fermentation. The latter is thermo controlled at temperatures below 30ºC. By tasting the phenolic maturation is determined upon which the wine is transferred to American or French oak barrels where it remains from 12 to 14 months. The wine is then transferred to bottles for a minimum of 6 months.
Tasting notes
Predominant cherry red color with intense purple hints. Aromatic features such balsam, spicy and toasted notes not to mention very characteristic remniscences of ripe fruits. Pleasant and persistent wine with a silky feel.
